About Us
A Home With A Legacy
Today, this exquisitely restored landmark offers a luxurious canvas for your next production, event, or experience. With four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and ample outdoor space, The Elkins House provides a stunning backdrop for your creative vision. This harmonious blend of historical grandeur and contemporary refinement ensures a unique setting for truly unforgettable occasions.
Part of a rich historical tapestry, The Elkins House stands as a testament to Brooklyn's evolution.
Before 1620, the Lenape Indians inhabited this area, which the Dutch West India Company seized in the 1630s and later surrendered to the British in 1664. By the American Revolution, the village of Bedford had emerged, featuring modest establishments like a tavern and schoolhouse amidst expansive farmland and woodland.
This architectural masterpiece, built in 1855, embodies the elegance of Greek Revival and Italianate styles, reflecting the opulent taste of mid-19th-century design. Carefully preserved and revitalized after being narrowly saved from demolition in 2006, The Elkins House now graces the Crown Heights North Historic District and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
